Match report Having already won the Metropolitan district competition, we progressed into the Essex stages, and this was the semi final. I couldn't be there due to work, but was receiving multiple whatsapps and text updates (which actually made work impossible). The following adjectives are therefore not my own....We batted first and got 142 off 20 overs following a "sublime" 52* from Haaris Usman off 40 balls, and "solid" hitting at around a run a ball each from Jack (25), Kabelan (16) and Tom (18).

Into the field then, and "ruthless" captaincy from Nav kept the seamers (Tom (1/11) and Abdullah (2/15)) on for their maximum 4 overs each. Both were "very tight", with 8 fielders in the ring and the pressure eventually told in overs 7 and 8 when 3 wickets fell in quick succession. At that point Harlow were 26/3 off 8 overs. A tall order from there, and good bowling continued from Neil and Haaris Raza, and while we may have got a little "looser" and "variable" in the last few overs, the result wasn't in doubt from that point.

Into the Essex cup final against either Brentwood or Leigh on Sea.
