Match report T20 is by it's very nature a fickle beast and sooner or later, the dominance this squad has enjoyed would be broken. Cavaliers are a very decent team and undoubtedly deserved their victory on the day.

Winning the toss, Cavaliers batted and reached a modest 37 for 1 off the powerplay. With the fall of the second wicket at 47, Shandeepan and Zeeshan were paired at the crease, both going on to be retired on 50. The later batters did not, perhaps, accelerate as much as might have been feared but the innings ended on a respectable 155 for 4.

Wanstead U19s have chased 155 and more ... but that was last year. None of the top order really settled and the highest partnership was just 31 for the first wicket. Despite the lack of batting discipline, with 5 overs to go, Wanstead were only 8 runs behind the Cavalier's total confirming victory was indeed still possible. However, the last 4 wickets fell for only 26 runs in 2.5 overs, an uncharacteristic collapse that was not survivable.
