Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Won by 72 runs

Match report This was the fourth match for Wanstead in the ECB National U15 Cup and the first of the County rounds. Wanstead were able to field a strong side missing only the first and second choice keepers. Shivum filled in with the gloves and after a few sighting balls were bowled, managed very well, nearly taking a sharp stumping opportunity in the middle of the match. On the batting front, Inquy and Shari started at a ferocious rate before Inquy played across the line and was bowled with the score at 44. Sheri, Sam and Nick fell in the next 5 overs with Wanstead adding only 9 runs to the total. At this point, the loss of more quick wickets could have meant a complete batting collapse but the partnership of Feroze and Rahib steadied matters, eventually taking the total to 134 undeleated. Some middle order discipline to be learnt here perhaps...

Wanstead's bowling was simply too consistent and strong for an understrength Hutton and once the excellent opening partnership of Tredgett and Whetstone was broken, wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Particular mention must go to J Whetstone who carried his bat for 32 out of his sides total of 62.

The next natch will be against Wells who have a strong side and will be a very serious challenge. The date is yet to be fixed but the deadline is Sunday 23rd.
