Match report An unbelievable game of cricket today with Wanstead 3rd XI playing away at Woodford Wells. Woodford Wells set a hugh target of 339 for 6 with Guy Peddy and Iain Wilson putting on a 50 partnership in very quick time. Chris Hamilton was the star with the bat for the wells with 109 not out. The were also supporting innings from The Skipper Paul Murphy 60 not out and Albert Morgan 58 not out.
The bowling star for the Wells was 13 year old Rishi Roy-Murherjee who finished up with figures of 12-1-72-4.
Wanstead 3rd XI started the chase well with Ismal Dar and shoab Iqbal setting a partnership of 92 before Shoab Iqbal fell on 47, a superb knock. Ismail carried on the chase with Tahir Iqbal who knocked up a quick fire 21, Asif Majid also powered his way to a quick fire 23 with a damaged hand caused by an on field incident, Ismail was finally caught on 77 but not until setting up a sound partnership with Giri who knotched up 56 to get Wanstead on their way to victory. The final chase came in the form of Mohammed Shahyirar and Brandon Lord who basically took the game away from the Wells.
The game was played in great spirit by both sides.
