After the monsoon on Saturday night it was only due to the tremendous efforts of everyone involved that we got any cricket on Sunday. Thank you to everyone.
The semi-finals were shortened to 15 overs a side and in the first semi-final against Bishop Stortford CC, we got off to a blistering start with Hassan scoring 51 off 26 balls including five 6s. Kishen and Feroze then kept the scoring going as we accumulated a very respectable 128. When Bishop Stortford CC batted they never really got going and finally subsided to 97 all out with Aron taking 4-7 from his 3 overs.
North Middlesex CC then easily beat Cambridge Granta CC in the other semi-final to set up an intriguing final.
North Middlesex CC batted first the final and tight bowling by all our bowlers saw them restricted to 89-4 off 16 but a late flourish saw them post a total of 132. The 1st XI decided to make the game interesting for the crowd. Hassan was run out first ball and Zain quickly followed as we subsided to 8-2. Arfan and Kishen then stopped the rot before departing as the score moved to 57-4. However a superb partnership of 78 from Feroze and Tom saw us home with 4.5 overs to spare. Feroze scored a scintillating 52 not out with three 6s and Tom a cultured 35 not out, also with three 6s. The last 32 runs came off just 7 balls!
Well done for a great team effort from Joe and the boys. Now off to Birmingham for the Regional Final on Sunday 13th August against Cannock & Rugeley Hawks CC
